CURTISS-WRIGHT OPENS MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN TEXAS

May 16, 2011

THAT WILL SERVE AS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR LARGE REFINING AND PROCESS VESSELS

PARSIPPANY, N.J., May 16, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE:CW) today celebrated the grand opening of its $36 million, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chambers County, TX. At this new facility, the company will manufacture large vessels and other equipment for the refining and petrochemical industries and will produce large valve products for the severe service process industries.

"This facility represents an investment that provides many benefits. For the U.S., it establishes a level of single source comprehensive specialty manufacturing capability and capacity that did not exist here. For our customers, it takes away size and transportation limitations and provides increased efficiencies. For Curtiss-Wright, it is another milestone in supplying products and technology to the severe service process industries, and demonstrates the important role we will play in the future of energy markets," said Martin R. Benante, Chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. "We now have the increased flexibility required to develop new products and enter new markets, and have strengthened our ability to bid competitively on large-scale refinery projects and expand our global market share."

Curtiss-Wright began construction of the new facility, operated by the company's Flow Control segment, in September 2010 and completed it on time and on budget. The facility houses some of the most modern machining and fabrication equipment available in the industry. To date, the company has already booked $17 million in new orders for this facility.

The facility covers over 12 acres of property and includes 118,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Key features include one of the largest, fully enclosed blasting and paint facilities in the U.S., refractory installation, superior material handling and convenient barge transportation. This expansion will create about 100 jobs, from engineering positions to skilled welders and fitters. Curtiss-Wright currently employs 255 employees in the Houston area.

Unlike other valve manufacturers, Curtiss-Wright is the only single source provider of a turnkey package of slide valves, actuators, power skid units, field service, Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) equipment, reactors and large diameter pressure vessels.

Earlier today, Clif Jacobs, Vice President and General Manager, Curtiss-Wright Oil & Gas Systems, hosted a ribbon-cutting event. Joining him was the Honorable Hope Andrade, Texas Secretary of State.

"Today, we celebrate Curtiss-Wright's capital investment in Baytown and Chambers County and its workers producing equipment for our state's vibrant energy sector," said Secretary of State Andrade. "Thanks to investments like the Texas Enterprise Fund, this new manufacturing facility will help enhance Curtiss-Wright's strong reputation as producers of quality technology for severe service operating environments."
